NAME

vsbreast − rule-based refinement of the pectoral muscles.

SYNOPSIS

vsbreast if= hf= df= af= mf= zc= xc= xmin= xmax= ymax= of=

DESCRIPTION

vsbreast

performs the rule-base refinement of the pectoral muscles. The inputs are soft tissues in the ROI, the expanded thoracic cavity and its boundary, boundary of the expanded thoracic cavity with closing fat and the distance to lung. The z coordinate of the carina, x coordinate of the sternum center, and extents of the expanded thoracic cavity are also required. The output is the newly detected pectoral muscles.

Rules based on location and connectivity to the expanded thoracic cavity are applied to identify additional pectoral muscles that are missed by first stage region growing.
