vaproj − Removes aortic and mitral valve calcification.

vaproj if=<hrt> ia=<aorta> cal=<calcium> cy=<carina y> of=<outfile>

vaproj vaproj estimates the location of aortic valve and mitral valve and eliminates the corresponding valve calcification. The ascending aorta region obtained from ia is projected down through heart. Any CAC candidates with more than 40% volume covered by the projection is determined as aortic calcification and eliminated. Any candidate in the aortic valve region larger than 1000 voxels is also eliminated. Mitral valve is searched in the left posterior quadrant of heart. Any candidate in this region larger than 1000 voxel is eliminated.

Input if is the dilated heart region. ia is the segmented aorta. Input cal is the CAC candidate map. cy is the y coordinate of the carina. Output of is the new CAC map after elimination of aortic and mitral valve calcification.
