SIMBA Image Viewer Settings

For both Standard and Advanced Viewers

The settings options (for all view panels)  at the top of the viewer are shown below:

The buttons have the following functions:

·      Top row selector (displays Advanced above) This selector allows the user to select a different SIMBA image viewer from: Standard, Advanced or Java. The Java viewer is depreciated for modern web browsers. When changing viewers, the viewer is initialized with the same images(s) with which the current viewer was initialized; any modifications from the initial viewer state will be lost.

·      VPanel1 – Vpanel4 The viewer is capable of presenting four different images simultaneously if screen resources permit. From the SIMBA system the viewer will be initialized with either one or two images only. View panel visibility can be toggled with the Vpanel buttons. On opening a. new view panel, it will be initialized with the same image used for Vpanel 1 initialization. Click in the Image button for the new view panel to select a different image for display.

·      AStyle Currently, this is only available for the Advanced viewer. This selector facilitates the style setting of an annotation boundary with respect to color and line thickness

·      Dark This button toggles the dark mode presentation favored by many radiologists. In the dark mode the viewer background surrounding the images is set to black.

·      Fill The fill mode readjusts the size of the viewer panels to fill the available screen space. This is the preferred method for readjusting view pane sizes. While this mode is set the view panels will automatically adjust size when the browser screen size is modified. When this mode is toggled off (the default state) the view panels may have their size adjusted by their individual manual controls

·      1—2 This links just the z (image frame) settings between view panel 1 and view panel 2. With this mode set both view panels will show the same image frame; when one is changed the other will follow. This option currently a very simple linking mechanism (for radiological images it does not consider image offsets or image slice thickness settings).

·      Pending This is an indicator that displays how any images the viewer has requested from the server but has not yet received. This should only be a high number for rapid animations or when loading a large set of images.
