The Cancer Center at the New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Lehman Brothers Lung Cancer Research Center invite you to join the Cornell Lung Cancer Research Group in a one-day symposium on Friday January 18, 2008 on “Multidisciplinary Approaches to Lung Cancer: Moving towards Personalized Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment.”
The Lung Cancer Research Group includes faculty from WCMC and the Cornell-Ithaca campus interested in furthering intercampus collaborations related to lung cancer research. A prior symposium was held in Ithaca in July, 2007 during which faculty developed collaborative research project ideas ranging from in vitro and animal models related to lung cancer to ways to communicate risk to smokers.
An all-day symposium will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 in Room A-126, Weill Medical College campus. The symposium will be organized to allow for presentations of collaborative projects, current research activities by interested faculty from both campuses, and formal and informal networking. There will be a symposium dinner the evening before on Thursday January 17, 2008 at 6:30 pm, to be held at the Griffis Faculty Club. Please let Dr. Heller know whether you will be able to attend.
Some financial support is available to help defray travel and hotel costs for visiting Ithaca faculty. The precise amount of support will not be known until we know the number of participants. Please let us know if we can help you with hotel reservations and the associated costs.
